Kisaq is a part of the Construction Group of companies managed by Akima, LLC, a management subsidiary within the NANA Family of Companies. Akima’s parent company, NANA Regional Corporation, was formed in 1972 following the enactment of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act. That Act, the largest land claims settlement in United States history, transferred land titles to Alaska’s indigenous people through the formation of 13 Regional Alaska Native Corporations.
NANA’s sole purpose is to provide for the economic and cultural well-being of our owners – the Inupiat Eskimo people who originated in northwest Alaska. Embodying the values of the traditional Inupiat hunter, NANA businesses around the globe contribute to the lives of our 11,400 shareholders by bringing revenues and creating opportunities that enable our people to live productively in traditional and modern worlds.
Kisaq brings the technical strength and financial backing of our parent organizations to the work we do. As an Akima subsidiary, we are a part of an extended family of companies who in total employ more than 5,600 technical and service professionals in more than 43 states, 3 territories and 6 countries around the world. That is strength to build on.
